Stout Cyclery -
About Us
As far as I can remember I have had a fascination with bicycles. I guess it all started when the training wheels came off as kid and I never looked back. (Except for when they came off I crashed into the neighbor’s fence and bloodied my nose) after that, I was off and never looked back.

Fast forward 30 years and I’m still riding. I have dabbled in mountain bike and road racing, spent the last several years racing triathlon including  2 Ironman finishes. But being from Findlay, OH with great roads and light traffic I spend most my time on my road bike.

Shortly after I got my first road bike in 2007 I went for a bike fitting. WOW, was I amazed at how good I felt after the fitting.  Since that day I began to read everything I could on bike fitting and started fitting friend’s bikes. After several years of being self-taught and honing my skills as a bike fitter I got Certified through SICI (Serotta International Cycling Institute).  Bike fitting available evenings and weekends by appointment only.

In 2008 I was looking for a rear-view helmet mirror but could not find one I liked. I had seen a few hand-made mirrors but could not find one for sale so I made my own out of a bicycle spoke and a beer cap. A local bike shop liked the mirror and asked if I could make some to sell in his shop.  This led to the not so cleverly named Bottle Cap Bike MirrorCollecting cool beer caps for my mirrors opened my eyes to the world of craft beer.

Now to bring this full circle, My ridding buddy and I were having a couple cold beers (saving the caps for my mirrors of course) while working on his bike before our local century ride. I was telling him about custom built American made bikes and Seven Cycles out of Watertown, MA. Like all great ideas that start in a garage while drinking beer one thing led to the next and we started Stout Cyclery a bike fit studio offering and sales and service of custom built bikes from Seven Cycles.
